Gifford, Brookes

New Duo Beth Gifford (Viola, Voice) and Nat Brookes (Accordion) made their debut in November 2015 headlining at Stortfolk and have performed at many folk and ceilidh clubs around the south east.

Gifford and Brookes met at Sidmouth Folk Festival and first played together in the "Asbo Tent" sessions. The combination of viola and accordion immediately struck a chord and they also discovered their joint loves of singing and composition.

With diverse influences from Ceilidh Bands Chalktown and Saxophony to folk club favourites Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr and Kate Rusby they combine traditional material with original songs and tunes to create a fresh and individual sound.
